MENTOR Illinois elevates the impact of mentoring today so more young people reach their potential tomorrow.
Impact Awards Breakfast
Join us on November 12 for the annual Impact Awards Breakfast, a must-attend event for leaders and innovators in the field which honors organizations, businesses, and key individuals in Illinois who are making a difference through mentoring.
Back to School Month
As school begins, mentoring programs report that September is the month of most critical need to recruit new mentors and reduce waitlists. So throughout September, we’ll show how mentoring can positively impact academic outcomes and support youth in school. We hope that this back to school season, you’ll step up to become a mentor for one of the 9 million youth growing up without that support.
The In Real Life campaign was launched in response to President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative and the call-to-action to deliver on the promise of opportunity for all of our young people.

MENTOR Illinois is dedicated to creating the best chances for long-lasting, positive experiences for young people entering mentoring relationships.
Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. Ultimately, mentoring connects a young person to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity. Yet one in three young people will grow up without this critical asset.
